This project began on the 4th of July, 1976. The Stone House celebrated energy independence through the use of passive solar design and recycled materials. Its design incorporated the heat of a Russian fireplace to keep the bathtub warm, a solar chimney to encourage natural ventilation, and a greenhouse to capture the winter sunlight.
